Managing IDs

This article guides you on the the importance of organizing clients accurately. It introduces Internal ID and Client ID as two types of identifiers to simplify client data management.

For the records and future use of data, it is very important for clients to be segregated properly. It is very difficult to identify each client by their names and sometimes they might have matching names where data handling will get confusing. There are to different types of IDs that you can set in the system for the clients that is Internal Id and Client Id.


Internal Id - It is a system-generated ID for Clients.

Client Id - As every company has its unique way of recording data, so client ID is manually set by the user while setting or editing the client's personal details.

You can set one of these IDs as default to search your client using the global search feature in Agentcis.
To do so, follow the given steps.
Step 1: Select Settings from the top info bar.

Step 2: Select the General tab.

Step 3: Select the Others tab.

Step 4: Select default ID to use as search criteria. This will affect while you search for the client from the global search bar.

Step 5: For Internal ID, you can also set the  Internal ID Prefix. This will company your internal id in the system. For eg. if you set the prefix as AG then the internal id will be displayed as AG 1, AG 2 and so on.

Step 6: Click on Save.

Now, to search the contact from any part of the system with their respective ID, follow the given steps.

 Step 1- Click on the Search Contacts section on the top info bar.

Step 2- Type in the ID, for example, "10" and your client will be listed in the dropdown list.
